National Agencies which can offer support and advice regarding domestic abuse and sexual violence, together with those which can help with related issues.
  • Action on Elder Abuse

    Action on Elder Abuse works to protect and prevent the abuse of vulnerable, older adults. The charity provides a free phone helpline, which is open, every weekday from 9am to 5pm, and can provide information on the nature of elder abuse and indicate what action might be taken in response to abuse or to prevent it.
  • Childline

    ChildLine is the free and confidential 24-hour helpline for children and young people in the UK. Children and young people can call the helpline about any problem, at any time - day or night.
  • Counselling Directory

    Counselling Directory is a confidential service that encourages those in distress to seek help. The directory contains information on many different types of distress, as well as articles, news, and events. To ensure the professionalism of our website, all counsellors have provided details of qualifications and insurance cover or proof of membership with a professional body.

    The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) provides a free, fast emergency injunction service to survivors of domestic violence regardless of their financial circumstances, race, gender or sexual orientation.

    Women's Aid (the national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children), in partnership with Refuge, provides a free phone 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline.
